First Tech Federal Credit Union Hosts Credit Union for Kids Campaign to benefit Children’s Hospital Colorado
Credit Unions for Kids was founded 36 years ago by First Tech Federal Credit Union and other credit union partners in the Pacific Northwest to ensure children have access to the best care when they need it most. Each year, the collaborative effort has been a catalyst for change; funding life-saving research, innovative technology, and supportive care.
This year’s fundraising efforts span several months, with employees and members strengthening efforts to provide financial support and encouragement to their communities. First Tech employees set out with a goal to raise $100,000 and First Tech offered a special 2:1 match for its employees, in addition to its 1:1 match for credit union members and the community.
“The Credit Unions for Kids campaign is a testament and cherished manifestation of our people helping people philosophy,” said First Tech Federal Credit Union President and CEO Greg Mitchell. “Through the generous contributions of our credit union community, vendors, partners, members, and employees, we were able to provide life-changing funds and critical resources for the thousands of children and families in need.”
Over the last twelve years, First Tech employees and members have donated over $75,000 to Children’s Hospital Colorado.
First Tech’s Children’s Miracle Network hospital partners are renowned for their cutting-edge medical research, innovative therapies and treatments, and world-class care for children. Beneficiaries include five hospitals along the west coast, and Children’s Hospital Colorado, where three First Tech branch locations.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with First Tech through the Credit Unions for Kids campaign,” said Teri Nestel, President and CEO of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Each year, this campaign raises essential funds for children of all backgrounds and provides a terrific opportunity for credit unions to work together and demonstrate their shared commitment to social responsibility and collaborating for the greater good.”
Additionally, First Tech Federal Credit Union will revive their annual Northwest Classic golf tournament in July for the first time in two years. 100% of proceeds will be split between the six benefitting hospitals.
